Tips for Indian cooking
A few tips for Indian cooking Use non-stick pans and use wooden spoons so that they don’t scratch For blending, use a food processor or hand held blender Stock up on the spices – don’t buy a huge variety Most recipes use a number of spices and its useful to measure these out before you start cooking. Aim for simple dishes When using yoghurt, beat it lightly until smooth before adding ingredients Combine an Indian main course with plain vegetables, rice or a salad and flat bread. Create your own style of Indian by using a mixture of cumin, tumeric, coriander and chilli. If using other recipes, reduce the amount of oil, and use low fat varieties of coconut milk and yoghurt instead of the full varieties.
